ABOUT ME
Hello everyone! Welcome to Jacob H. Ford Photography! As just stated, my name is Jacob Ford. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I've lived in southwestern Pennsylvania all of my life, and am from the small town of Richeyville, PA, located about 30 miles south of Pittsburgh, and currently reside in the City of Monongahela, PA, about 17 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. I've always been proud of where I'm from and proud of the heritage in this area of our beautiful country. I love everything there is about the Mon Valley, and Pittsburgh region. I'm also a passionate Pittsburgh sports fan! I love following the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and yes, the Pirates too! I attend a few games for each team every year and enjoy going with my wife, family, and friends. I've always enjoyed photography as a hobby of mine but have just recently decided to take my photography to the next level. I hope to bless many people through my photography and capture the beauty of the Mon Valley, and Pittsburgh when I get the chance.

I was born August 2, 1996, to two wonder and loving parents, Scott and Kathe Ford. I was homeschooled all my life and attended college at former California University of Pennsylvania (now known as PennWest California University). I graduated from there in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in environmental studies and now work as a Utility Forester for Davey Resource Group for the West Penn Power service area in for the Charleroi service area, covering parts of Washington, Westmoreland, Fayette, and Allegheny Counties. Sometimes I discover fun new areas to photograph in the Mon Valley from the places my work takes me. Before I worked for Davey Resource Group, I was a Utility Forester for a company called ACRT (Assessments, Consulting, Representation, and Training), working in Duquesne Light's service areas in Allegheny and Beaver Counties and began there right out of college in June of 2019. In just the two years I worked there, I was given many opportunities to work in different neighborhoods and suburbs around Pittsburgh and that allowed me to see the city and surrounding areas in new ways I never would have imagined and is part of what inspired me to go back to photograph some of these areas after having learned my way around from my experiences working in and around Pittsburgh.
I got married in June of 2022 to the love of my life and beautiful wife Sydney! We met through our church, Crossroads Ministries in Finleyville, PA back in the summer of 2020. We are very blessed and happy together in our home in Monongahela, PA. We also have a wonderful puppy named Kenai! He completes our family for right now. I hope that you are blessed by my work here and enjoy looking through my portfolios! I find much joy in capturing and exploring God's world around me! As you can tell from my photos and website, I most enjoy capturing what man has built in in the Mon Valley and up to Pittsburgh in the last 250 years as it is fascinating to me, and I especially enjoy the nature around this area, but nothing comes close to when God paints the sky with a vibrant sunrise or sunset over the region I love so much.
